What are Permanent Cosmetics? Permanent Cosmetics are also known as a form of tattooing that resembles the use of makeup. Permanent makeup technicians use a machine or manual tool to do the procedures. I use a rotary machine for all procedures except micro-blading. For micro-blading eyebrows I use a hand tool. At the start of your first appointment we will talk about your expectations of permanent makeup and if this procedure is right for you. After deciding that the procedure is right for you, we will begin by drawing on your shape to get a clear picture of what you are expecting from this procedure. Before treatment, a consultation takes place at the time of your appointment to understand the realistic expectations of permanent makeup and skin suitability. We will then draw on your makeup and create a stencil of how you want your desired shape. A before photo is taken, and consent forms filled out while the numbing process is started. Throughout the procedure, topical anesthetic will be re-applied to maintain your comfort. When the treatment is finished some after care cream will be applied. You will be advised on after care and given the after care worksheet. The treatment area may feel sensitive. With eye liner or lip treatments you may have some swelling which should settle down within a few hours.
I am SPCP certified and fully insured.
"Will it hurt?" - I do use surgical grade anesthetic, therefore most clients tend to be pretty comfortable.
"What is the healing time?" - With the anesthetic that i use, it includes epinephrine, which helps contain the swelling and bleeding. This is great because it makes the turn around time pretty quick. Although for full healing I say about 8 weeks, you will be able to go out and about without much notice pretty quickly.
"How do you choose what color you will use?" - The color will be based on your preference, as well as my professional opinion. I do take into account, skin tone and outside factors.
"Will it look natural?" - Permanent makeup has been carefully studied for years and at this point I have been taught to make your procedure look as natural as possible.
Before Treatment: We will begin by having you fill out a consent form with medical background, to be sure that I am aware of all health problems that could affect the procedure. At that time, we will begin our in depth consultation and decide what shape will best fit for you. We will customize your shape and choose your color. Each client will be different. Before photos will be taken and your shape will be drawn on. You must approve your shape before we get started. Lastly, I will apply the topical anesthetic to ensure comfort during the procedure.
During Treatment: A machine or hand tool will be used to implant the top of the line pigments into the skin. I do not use body art inks due to the unnatural look as they heal. The state of the art pigments used in permanent makeup are dermatologist tested. Topical anesthetic will continue to be applied through out your procedure to ensure you stay comfortable.
After Treatment: Although you may feel some sensitivity and swelling, it should reside within a few hours. An after care cream will be applied following the procedure. The after care will be explained and you will receive an aftercare worksheet to take home for reference.
Follow Up Treatment: The follow up visit or perfecting appointment will be booked at the end of the first procedure. It will be booked no sooner than 8 weeks following the initial visit. This second appointment is imperative in order to finish your look.
Will 3D Eyebrows work well for me? -If you have extremely oily skin, the 3D eyebrow technique may NOT work well for you but we are happy to do it for you as long as you have a realistic expectation. The constant production of oil will cause the hair strokes to heal with a diffused, softer look. Your end result will look more powdered than you would expect. -If you are a frequent smoker, your pigment will fade sooner. -If you are iron deficient or Anemic, your pigment will fade sooner and bleeding/bruising may occur during and after the procedure. -Unhealthy compromised skin due to health issues, medications and over use of (anti aging, acne skincare, ect..) are all factors in the outcome. To keep your hair strokes looking good, a refresher appointment is suggested every 1 to 2 years. Results vary with each client. -Additional touch-up appointments will be charged depending on how much work is to be done.
FOLLOWUPS: The 2nd touch-up appointment is crucial for the best results. (Perfection appointment, no sooner than 8 weeks.) Additional touch-up appointments will be charged based on the amount of work.
IMPORTANT: Healed results will vary with each individual client. NO guarantee will be made and additional sessions (at a minimum charge) may be required to obtain optimal results. Additional charges will apply. Although we give our best efforts to provide you with quality service, many factors can result in a less than desired outcome as each client will heal differently. Please refer to my Pre-Care page to see if the services I offer may be beneficial to you and whether or not the Before & Aftercare Directions are a good fit for your lifestyle.
